InterviewAlexis Mac Allister's Arsenal preview: 'We always want to win - that's our mentality'
Arne Slot's side host the Gunners at Anfield on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League, having of course already assured themselves the title.
Ahead of the latest round of fixtures, Arsenal sit second in the standings behind the Reds with a 15-point gap separating the clubs ahead of the season's final three games.
Though the championship has been secured for a fortnight, Mac Allister insists he and his teammates are only thinking about three points in what he expects to be a challenging contest.
"We know it's going to be a tough game," the midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com. "They are a really good team. They have very good players and we respect them. We will give our best to win this game.
"We know at the same time that maybe after they lost in the Champions League they will try to beat us because it will mean something to them. It's going to be a nice game. Hopefully the fans can enjoy it and we can get the win."

On what motivation there is in the squad after already being crowned champions...
I think we are not thinking about records or breaking records. It's more about what we can do and what we can improve. We always want to win and that's the mentality of this group and we will do everything to win the games that we have now. Arsenal will be a nice game. We don't have to prove anything but to show the work and that we deserve to be champions. It's going to be a nice one.
On whether the domestic success this season can provide a platform for a challenge in Europe next season...
Definitely. When you watch these games [the Champions League semi-finals] you want to be there. This year it wasn't for us in the Champions League but hopefully next year we can show that we want more and that we want to fight to win that title because of what it means to the club. It was a nice game but hopefully next year we are in that position.
On what differences he has seen between Slot and Jürgen Klopp...
I think there is difference with the ball and when we are in possession. I think we are more calm and try not to be as direct as we were before and be more patient. But the principal ideas are the same. It didn't change much. I think Arne was really smart with that because we have many players that were a long time under Jürgen and it's not easy to change that quick.
Arne was really smart and I don't see many differences now, but I think in the future Arne will try to put more emphasis on what he wants. I think even though we won the Premier League we all know we can improve some things. My role changed quite a lot. Under Jürgen I played as a six in many games. As I always say, I want to be on the pitch, it doesn't matter where so I am happy with it.
On whether there is a secret to thriving on the big stage after winning the World Cup, Copa America and Premier League...
I think the secret is my teammates. I always say that without them this wouldn't be possible and to play with this kind of player is always easier because you can make a mistake and they will be there to solve it. They are the main thing and I just try to always help in the way I can.
