Liverpool have 'stepped up their efforts' to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, according to The Guardian.

Mac Allister was a key figure as Argentina won the World Cup in Qatar in December and he has been linked with a number of top clubs in the Premier League due to his superb form on the south coast.

Mac Allister is expected to leave Brighton in either May or June, coinciding with Jurgen Klopp liking to get his transfer targets signed before the start of pre-season.
