35 years on - Never forgotten
As a result of the events that occurred on April 15, 1989 at the Reds’ FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest, 97 children, women and men lost their lives.
For three-and-a-half decades, the bereaved families and survivors of the tragedy have demonstrated remarkable courage, dignity and resilience in search of truth and justice.
In April 2016, an inquest jury concluded that each of the Hillsborough victims had been unlawfully killed and that no role was played by supporters in causing the disaster.
Our thoughts today, as always, are with all those affected by the tragedy at Hillsborough and the 97 fans who will never be forgotten.
