Liverpool FC today celebrates its 130th anniversary.

On June 3, 1892, 'Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Limited' was officially formed, after founder John Houlding and his close associates split from Everton FC following a dispute.

It was the birth of an institution that would go on to become English football's most successful, with Anfield its home.
