“This fella is one of Liverpool’s greatest players,” bellowed Scouse musician Kieo into a microphone as he stood on the stage of the city’s Eventim Olympia in front of hundreds of Kopites.

“He promised a few years ago that he’d come down to a BOSS Night. Youse are in a very, very, very special position here, ladies and gentlemen, cos I’d like to welcome to the stage…Mr Alisson Becker!”

And with that Liverpool FC goalkeeper Alisson, wearing the new LFC Nike Tech fleece hoodie and pants, walked onto the stage clutching a guitar amidst wild cheers. “Alisson! Alisson! Alisson!” chanted the excited crowd as phones were raised and photos taken amidst the flashing of lights.

“We’re going to sing a little song for you,” continued Kieo. “Sing along. One, two, three, four…We’ve conquered all of Europe, we’re never gonna stop…”

Not every club can launch their new third kit with one of the best goalkeepers in the world playing Allez Allez Allez on his guitar while joining in with a mass singalong alongside passionate supporters of all ages, but that’s exactly what Liverpool FC did.

In collaboration with the phenomenon that A BOSS Night events have become, LFC Retail put on a fantastic show that also featured Reds legend John Barnes rapping to the Sugar Hill Gang’s Rapper's Delight. The surprises didn’t stop there.

Halfway through Allez Allez Allez, new signing Dominik Szoboszlai and LFC Women 2022/23 Player of the Season Missy Bo Kearns emerged from behind the stage curtain wearing the snazzy shirt as more cheers broke out.

Featuring a purple ripple pattern with black sleeve cuff, black collarbone inserts and black side panelling, many Reds in the crowd got a much closer look at Nike’s latest design as Szobo and Missy Bo threw several shirts from the stage. Those lucky enough to grab one had quite the memento of a superb night.

It may have been a little dark inside the Olympia to immediately spot some of the finer details, such as the speckled finish on the Nike Swoosh logos that are made of recycled materials including end-of-life shoes, but when Liverpool FC wear their new purple third strip in the UEFA Europa League it will feature an LFC Foundation patch on the back of the shirt.

Many Kopites at the launch were wearing the new Liverpool FC home shirt and as Kieo and Alisson played We Love You Liverpool on stage, Szoboszlai and Bo Kearns walked along the front of the crowd signing as many shirts - whatever the colour - as possible and posing for selfies.

After Alisson had joined them to sign a few autographs with his shot-stopping, guitar-strumming right hand, the trio returned to the stage and held red and white scarves aloft as the Anfield anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone echoed around the LFC-banner filled Olympia as sparks flew from the on-stage pyrotechnics.

“We have the best fans in the world,” shouted Bo Kearns after grabbing the microphone, much to the amusement of the smiling Szoboszlai. And as the trio exited stage left and the assembled Liverpool FC supporters took in what they had just experienced at a truly unique BOSS Night, it was hard not to conclude that there isn’t a better football club in the world either.
