Ceri Holland conceded Liverpool FC Women are going through a 'hard moment' but is determined to battle through alongside her teammates.

The Reds were beaten 2-1 by Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays Women's Super League on Sunday afternoon.

The loss at Brisbane Road leaves Gareth Taylor's side without any points from their opening six top-flight games this season.

Read on below as Holland reflected on the defeat to Spurs and the campaign to date…

On her assessment of the match...

I think we started well. Obviously scored a really good goal and in the first half I thought we caused them some problems and found some pockets and looked pretty good going into half-time. After half-time we let them get back into the game. The goals are sloppy from our point of view where we switched off. We have to look at that and be better in those moments. We also have to create more in the final third. There's lots to work on and we're aware it's a hard moment right now, but we'll do everything we can to get through.

On trying to sustain momentum for longer sections of matches...

We've got to be better at sustaining that and I also think when we have that kind of momentum we've got to go and score one, two or three goals to put the game to bed in those moments. We've had some really good chances in the first half and those are moments we have to finish. The first goal for them is really sloppy, so to let them back into the game like that was really disappointing and then I felt like from there we never got a foothold back in the game.

On how good the squad is at picking each other up...

The squad is always together. It's been a hard moment, but we don't make any excuses. We have to be better. We're not shying away from that. We're always together. We have a really good set of girls and a good set of staff and we'll stick together in this moment.

On picking out the positives to try to piece them together...

I think we have to look at the positives but along with that we have to look at the moments where we've got to be better. I think we have to have a long and hard look at ourselves. We have to look at ourselves individually and are we doing everything that we possibly can? From there we have to kick on because we've got to start winning football matches. We're aware it's not been a good run for us and that's not acceptable at this club.

On the challenge posed by Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday...

It'll be a good game. We're back at home in front of our fans and it's a really good opportunity for us to kick on in a moment where that will be a game that will give us opportunities. We're excited for it.
