One of the club's earliest players, William Michael was at Liverpool for just one season (1896-97).
That was only Liverpool's second year of First Division football after their promotion as Division Two champions in 1896.
Michael played in the forward line but although he was selected for 19 of the 30 league matches, the longest run of consecutive appearances he made was nine.
He scored four times and the club comfortably held on to their First Division status at the second time of asking by finishing in a respectable fifth place.
