Past playersTrevor Storton
Years: 1972-1974
Appearances: 12
Honours: UEFA Cup (1973)
Trevor Storton was signed by Liverpool from Tranmere Rovers at the start of the 1972-73 season.
Bill Shankly was still in the process of rebuilding his 'new' team but it was quickly evident that the centre-back was not one of the players he expected to be a big part of that, even though this was the season when the club finally ended a seven-year wait for a major trophy.
He was given his league debut at Leeds United at the end of September 1972 but only made another three league appearances that term and just one in the following campaign.
Storton was on the bench for both legs of the 1973 UEFA Cup final in which the Reds beat Borussia Monchengladbach 3-2 on aggregate.
He returned to the lower divisions with Chester City in July 1974, for whom he made almost 500 appearances in all competitions.
