Tom Wilkie was a defender who played for Liverpool during the last few years of the 19th century.
He made his debut on the opening day of the 1895-96 season, a 3-2 away win at Notts County. In all, he played in 20 of the 30 league fixtures that season, which included his only Liverpool goal, versus Leicester Fosse in November 1895.
Wilkie also played in one of the 'Test’ matches at the end of the season, which cleared up the promotion and relegation issues of the day.
Wilkie established himself as the club's first-choice left-back in 1896-97, making 25 consecutive league appearances before being replaced by Billy Dunlop for the last five matches of the campaign.
However, Wilkie only played another 12 times over the next two seasons and his final game for the club came in a First Division fixture at Bury on November 19, 1898.
