Tom Wilkie was a defender who played for Liverpool during the last few years of the 19th century.

<p>He made his debut on the opening day of the 1895-96 season, a 3-2 away win at Notts County. In all, he played in 20 of the 30 league fixtures that season, which included his only Liverpool goal, versus Leicester Fosse in November 1895.</p><p>Wilkie also played in one of the 'Test’ matches at the end of the season, which cleared up the promotion and relegation issues of the day.</p><p>Wilkie established himself as the club's first-choice left-back in 1896-97, making 25 consecutive league appearances before being replaced by Billy Dunlop for the last five matches of the campaign.</p><p>However, Wilkie only played another 12 times over the next two seasons and his final game for the club came in a First Division fixture at Bury on November 19, 1898.</p>
