Tom Gracie made 33 league appearances for Liverpool, plus one in the FA Cup, during the three seasons that led up to the outbreak of the First World War.
The Reds sold Harold Uren to Everton in February 1912, while Gracie and Bill Lacey came the opposite way.
Glaswegian Gracie made a scoring debut at Bury on February 24, 1912 but that was his only goal from six matches that season.
Thirteen more league appearances and one goal followed in 1912-13, and in his final season with the club, 1913-14, Gracie managed another three goals from 14 games.
He returned to Scotland with Hearts in 1914 and was the joint-leading scorer in the Scottish league in the 1914-15 campaign with 29 goals in 37 games.
Sadly, Gracie was diagnosed with leukemia in March 1915 and passed away in his hometown, aged only 26, on October 23, 1915.
