Ted Parry was a latecomer to professional football, making his bow at the ripe old age of 29.

An able full-back, who also made five appearances for Wales, Parry spent five years at Liverpool during the early 1920s.

His debut came against Derby County towards the end of the 1920-21 season but he hardly got a look in as successive championships were won by the Reds in 1922 and 1923. In the second of those title-winning seasons, 10 men played in at least 37 of the 42 league games so the team almost picked itself.

Parry's final selection for the first team came on the last day of the 1924-25 campaign, a 1-1 draw away to Huddersfield Town.

After spending the majority of his Liverpool career as captain of the Central League side, he moved to Third Division Walsall at 34 years of age.
