Steven Caulker made four appearances for Liverpool in January 2016 during a short-term loan spell designed to ease an injury crisis for manager Jürgen Klopp.
The centre-back was brought in temporarily from Queens Park Rangers as the number of fixtures mounted up and the squad became depleted midway through the season.
Caulker's debut came as an emergency striker in the closing stages of a thrilling 3-3 draw with Arsenal at Anfield - and he was used similarly in subsequent games against Manchester United and Norwich City.
He then started in a more familiar defensive role as the Reds were held to a goalless stalemate by West Ham United in the FA Cup, which proved to be his final opportunity to represent the club.
