Anfield apprentice and local boy Steve Peplow signed professional forms for Liverpool in January 1966.

<p>After waiting patiently in the reserves for a first-team opportunity, he played in consecutive league matches against West Ham United and Leeds United in November 1969.</p><p>His only other first-team appearance came in the Fairs Cup against Vitoria Setubal at Anfield later that month.</p><p>Peplow was loaned to Swindon Town in the 1970-71 season, playing 15 games and scoring six goals, and made the move there permanently in June 1971.</p>
