A full-back who played on both flanks, Steve Parr signed for Liverpool in May 1948.

<p>The Preston-born player had to wait until the opening day of the 1951-52 season to make his debut, though.</p><p>He made 16 appearances that season and another four the following year but never seriously threatened Ray Lambert's position in defence.</p><p>Parr moved on to Exeter City in May 1955.</p>
