Sergi Canos made a single first-team appearance for Liverpool during his three-year spell with the club, before moving on to Norwich City in search of regular senior football.
The Reds snapped the Spaniard up from Barcelona's famed academy in the summer of 2013 and he began life on Merseyside as part of the youth set-up in Kirkby.
A versatile midfielder capable of playing centrally and on either flank, Canos soon made an impression with his work-rate, touch and creativity.
Two years after his arrival, it was time for the young man to gain experience out on loan – and a switch to Championship side Brentford was arranged.
Canos surpassed expectations during his spell with the Bees, scoring seven times in 38 league appearances and claiming the club's Goal of the Season award.
He returned to Liverpool in time to be included in Jürgen Klopp's squad for the final match of the 2015-16 Premier League campaign – and featured as a substitute in the draw at West Bromwich Albion.
But with fewer games ahead for the Reds in 2016-17, and likely fewer opportunities for Canos, he sealed a switch to Norwich as pre-season got under way that summer.
