Robert Neill was a centre-half who played for Liverpool soon after the club's formation in 1892.

<p>Although he played no part in the regular season of 1894-95, he was called up to replace Joe McQue for the test match against Bury at the end of April 1895. Liverpool lost 1-0 and were relegated back to the Second Division.</p><p>Neill did not feature the following season as the Reds made an immediate return to the First Division, but made 22 appearances in 1896-97 as the club finished in a creditable fifth place.</p><p>He scored two league goals for Liverpool, with one more coming in the FA Cup, against West Bromwich Albion in February 1897.</p>
