Robert Ireland made just one first-team appearance for Liverpool after signing from Rangers.

<p>Thirteen months after his arrival, the Scotsman replaced regular wing-half Tom Morrison in the home First Division fixture with Grimsby Town at Anfield on Boxing Day 1930.</p><p>Ireland returned north of the border by joining St. Johnstone the following summer.</p>
