Robert Blanthorne's two league appearances for Liverpool came at the end of the 1906-07 season.

<p>They were in consecutive home matches against Bristol City on April 13 and Middlesbrough on April 17.</p><p>The Reds were beaten 4-2 in both of those fixtures, though Blanthorne had the consolation of at least scoring in the latter.</p><p>He looked forward to a career with Newcastle United subsequently, but sadly broke his leg in the opening game of the 1908-09 season and failed to recapture the form that had persuaded the Magpies to sign him.</p>
