Winger Richie Partridge came through the ranks at Liverpool to make three senior appearances.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international got a first-team chance in the 8-0 League Cup fourth-round victory at Stoke City in November 2000, starting on the right flank.

But Partridge had to wait four more years for another opportunity, under Rafael Benitez. He made impressive substitute appearances in the League Cup wins over Middlesbrough and Tottenham Hotspur en route to the final.

Unfortunately, he suffered a number of injury problems during his time at the Reds.

Partridge had a serious cruciate knee ligament injury sustained in a collision with a teammate during a reserve match in November 2003 that kept him out of action for up to 10 months.

He had previously spent the entire 2002-03 campaign on loan at Coventry City and received many favourable reviews for his performances.

Partridge signed for Sheffield Wednesday in July 2005.
