    Phil Charnock became a record holder when he made his debut for Liverpool against Apollon Limassol on September 16, 1992.

    He was the club's youngest player to ever appear in a European match, aged 17 years and seven months.

    Charnock added only one League Cup appearance to his first outing, before he had a brief loan spell at Blackpool in 1996.

    Shortly afterwards he joined Crewe Alexandra, where he finally had the opportunity to be a first-team regular.
