Norman Leslie James was a centre-half who figured briefly for Liverpool at the start of the 1930s.

<p>Tom Bradshaw was the regular No.5 at the time and when he missed seven of the 42 First Division fixtures in 1930-31, James covered for him on all seven occasions.</p><p>James wasn't selected at all during 1931-32 as Bradshaw was an ever-present that season, and he made just one more appearance, again as cover for Bradshaw, when Sunderland visited Anfield  in December 1932.</p>
