Les Shannon was a centre-forward who made his debut for Liverpool towards the end of the 1947-48 season.
That chance came when he replaced Albert Stubbins for the home fixture with Manchester City in the April.
Shannon was selected for the first 10 games of the following campaign when Stubbins was unavailable because he went on strike, but was then himself replaced by Cyril Done.
His only goal for Liverpool was the first in the 2-1 win at Sheffield United on August 30, 1948.
