Les Bruton joined Liverpool in February 1932 after scoring 23 goals in 38 appearances for Blackburn Rovers in the First Division.

<p>He played only a single league game for the Reds during the remainder of that 1931-32 season. His debut came away to West Ham United on February 20, 1932. He also played in the Anfield FA Cup defeat by Chelsea a week later.</p><p>Bruton made five more league appearances the following season plus another in the FA Cup, with his only goal for the club coming at Chelsea on December 27, 1932.</p>
