Lee Jones was brought to Liverpool by Graeme Souness from Wrexham and was a prolific scorer for the reserve team.
First-team chances were at a premium, especially after the emergence of Robbie Fowler, but he still managed to score a number of goals for the youth team and for the reserves at the Reds despite breaking his leg twice.
Jones was loaned out back to Wrexham in 1995-96, scoring eight goals in 20 games.
He was a regular feature on the bench for the first half of the next campaign before being sold to Tranmere Rovers, with whom he had a successful spell under Liverpool idol John Aldridge.
