Heralded as one of Europe's brightest young stars, versatile Serbian attacker Lazar Markovic joined Liverpool from Benfica during the summer 2014 window.

<p>Things unfortunately did not work out for him on Merseyside, though, and Markovic spent much of his time with the club on loan elsewhere.</p><p>He did make 34 appearances across all competitions in his debut season with the Reds as they struggled to build on the second-placed Premier League finish of the previous term.</p><p>Markovic, who also adapted to a wing-back role when needed by Brendan Rodgers, provided three goals.</p><p>However, he would not add to those figures beyond the end of the campaign, as he had a series of loan spells in the years that followed - with Fenerbahce, Sporting CP, Hull City and Anderlecht.</p><p>Markovic moved away from Anfield permanently when he signed for Fulham in January 2019.</p>
