Lance Carr made 31 First Division appearances for Liverpool in the middle of the 1930s but only had one really extended run in the team.

<p>The South African forward featured in two games of the 1933-34 season, consecutive matches during December.</p><p>And he had to wait until the following September before being picked again but had only made three starts in 1934-35 when he was brought back for five of the last six games of that campaign, in which he scored twice.</p><p>Although Alfred Hanson started the next season on the left wing, Carr was brought back into the team for the third fixture and started a run of 21 appearances from 26 games.</p><p>He scored eight First Division goals for Liverpool overall, and also played in two FA Cup ties.</p>
