A winger with a supreme left foot, Kevin Sheedy began his career with Hereford United as a teenager before signing for Liverpool in July 1978.

<p>He made his league debut for the Reds on February 14, 1981 during a 2-2 home draw with Birmingham City, but his only other two appearances in the First Division were both as a substitute in the following season.</p><p>Sheedy also played in two League Cup ties for Liverpool in 1981-82 and scored in both of them, against Exeter City and Middlesbrough.</p><p>With his opportunities at Anfield limited, he decided to make the short trip across Stanley Park to join Everton and became a fixture in their side for several seasons, scoring regularly from his midfield position and winning championship and cup medals along the way.</p>
