Joseph Brough moved to Liverpool after scoring 43 goals for Port Vale in the 1909-10 season.

<p>He made 11 appearances as a forward for the Reds during 1910-11 and scored three goals, the first of which came only two minutes into his second match – against Nottingham Forest at Anfield on September 17, 1910.</p><p>But Brough dropped out of the team halfway through his debut campaign with the club and moved on to Bristol City in early 1912.</p>
