Inside-forward Johnny Walker played for Liverpool right at the end of the 19th century and in the early days of the 20th.

<p>He was signed from Edinburgh club Heart of Midlothian just before the 1897-98 season ended.</p><p>In the next campaign Walker missed just two league and cup games, scoring 11 times from 38 appearances.</p><p>The Scot was also a regular in the side and continued to chip in with goals for the next two years, claiming a league championship medal with the Reds in 1901, the club's first major title.</p><p>Walker made a further 18 league appearances in 1901-02 and then returned to his home country to play for Rangers.</p>
