<p>He was introduced into the side in the autumn of 1937 and performed well, scoring six times in 13 league games, including two in the last 10 minutes to seal a 3-1 win at city rivals Everton.</p><p>Shafto also netted once in three FA Cup appearances that term.</p><p>Despite the forward's success in those matches, though, he was only picked on four more occasions the following season.</p>
