John Lindsay made 14 First Division appearances for Liverpool at the end of the 1920s.

<p>He was selected on 10 occasions in the middle of the 1928-29 season and scored his first goal in the last of those matches, against West Ham United at Anfield on March 13, 1929.</p><p>Lindsay's only other league goal for the club was also against the same opposition when they played at Anfield in the following campaign.</p><p>He also figured twice in the FA Cup and scored Liverpool's opening goal at Bolton Wanderers in a fourth-round replay in January 1929, but the Reds were eventually knocked out after extra-time 5-2.</p>
