John Curran was a defender who played 20 times in the second and third seasons of Liverpool's Football League existence in the 1890s.

<p>He shared the right-back position with Andrew Hannah, playing 14 times to Hannah's 16, in 1894-95, the season when the club was immediately relegated back to the Second Division after their inaugural promotion year.</p><p>The next campaign, when Liverpool won the Second Division championship again, Curran started the season at right-back but was replaced in the autumn by Archie Goldie.</p>
