John Chadburn signed for Liverpool in 1903 and made just a pair of league appearances.

<p>He was deployed at right-back for the opening two matches of the 1903-04 season.</p><p>Both games ended in defeat and the Reds made numerous changes to their starting line-up as the first five fixtures were all lost.</p><p>Chadburn was one of four different players to wear the No.2 shirt in the opening 10 league games before a fifth, Alfred West, came in to the side on November 7, 1903 and continued to hold his place in that position for the rest of the season.</p><p>Chadburn left Liverpool in March 1904 and joined Plymouth Argyle.</p>
