Jimmy Walsh was a centre-forward who was at Liverpool for five years during the 1920s.

More than half of his 77 league and FA Cup appearances for the Reds came in the first of those seasons, 1923-24.

He scored twice on his league debut, a thumping 6-2 home win against Birmingham City on August 29, 1923, and finished as the club's top scorer with 16 goals from 37 matches.

Walsh also scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 FA Cup second-round victory at Burnden Park against Bolton Wanderers in February 1924.

After that, though, it was all downhill as far as his Liverpool career was concerned. He only made a further 32 league appearances for the club over the next four seasons.
