Jimmy Walsh was a centre-forward who was at Liverpool for five years during the 1920s.

<p>More than half of his 77 league and FA Cup appearances for the Reds came in the first of those seasons, 1923-24.</p><p>He scored twice on his league debut, a thumping 6-2 home win against Birmingham City on August 29, 1923, and finished as the club's top scorer with 16 goals from 37 matches.</p><p>Walsh also scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 FA Cup second-round victory at Burnden Park against Bolton Wanderers in February 1924.</p><p>After that, though, it was all downhill as far as his Liverpool career was concerned. He only made a further 32 league appearances for the club over the next four seasons.</p>
