James Scott was just 18 years old when he came to Liverpool and was the last of the 26 players the club called upon during the 1911-12 season.

He was selected for the last four fixtures of that First Division campaign, making his debut at Bradford City on Easter Monday 1912, a game the visitors won by two goals to nil.

Scott made the starting line-up on the opening day of the following season and played in six of the first nine games before losing his place to Ernest Peake.
