Centre-half James Gorman didn't get a lot of chances at Liverpool as Alex Raisbeck's understudy.

<p>He made his league debut on the final Saturday of the 1905-06 season, with Raisbeck missing, playing his part in a 3-1 home win over Sheffield United.</p><p>However, Gorman wasn't picked again until the second half of the following campaign, when he played in nine of the last 14 First Division fixtures.</p><p>He also figured nine times in his final year at Anfield, 1907-08.</p><p>His only goal for the club came in one of the four FA Cup ties he was selected for, the 4-2 first-round victory over Derby County at Anfield on January 11, 1908.</p><p>Gorman left for Leicester Fosse at the end of the 1907-08 season.</p>
