<p>He made 13 league appearances in the Reds' forward line, scoring three times. He also played in the FA Cup first-round tie with Barnsley at Anfield in January 1914.</p><p>Liverpool won the replay and went on to reach the final for the first time, only to be beaten by Burnley at the old Crystal Palace ground.</p><p>Amid the First World War, Dawson departed the club to join Hearts in 1917.</p>
