    After impressing with 11 goals in 18 games for Sunderland in the 1929-30 First Division, Liverpool invested in Gordon Gunson at the start of the 1930s.

    The flying winger made his debut at Bolton Wanderers on March 15, 1930, and that started a run of 10 consecutive appearances until the end of the season.

    However, he wasn't in the starting line-up for the following season, 1930-31, and only figured nine times in that year.

    But in 1931-32 he was one of only two ever-presents in the league, with the other being Tom Bradshaw, and he scored 17 times in those 42 games.

    His run of successive league appearances increased to 57 by early November 1932 but he then lost his place briefly to Harold Taylor before reclaiming it back for another shorter run.

    Gordon's final selection for Liverpool came on March 25, 1933, the occasion being a home First Division fixture with Blackburn Rovers that was drawn 2-2.
