George Paterson played in Liverpool's forward line three times during the last full season before the outbreak of the Second World War.
He made his debut in a home fixture against Stoke City between Christmas and New Year 1938, and his second and last league appearance came in the 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa on February 18, 1939.
Paterson also figured once in the FA Cup and scored the Reds' second goal in a 3-0 third-round victory over Luton Town at Anfield on January 7, 1939.
