George Livingstone had a remarkable career during which he was on the books of two sets of arch-rivals.

He not only played for both Celtic and Rangers, but also for Manchester City and Manchester United.

The inside-forward played in 31 of Liverpool's 34 First Division fixtures in 1902-03, the only season he figured in the first team.

He scored on his debut in a 5-2 win over Blackburn Rovers at Anfield on the opening day of the season, but would find the net on only three more occasions.

Livingstone's only appearance in the FA Cup came in a first-round defeat at United in February 1903.

Although he did not have a particularly successful career at Liverpool, he was certainly popular with his teammates and was said to have been a great joker in the dressing room.
