General Stevenson played 22 games for Liverpool at the end of the 19th century, before being replaced by Archie Goldie.

<p>Signed in December 1897, the full-back had to wait almost exactly a year to make his debut for the club.</p><p>Eight more appearances followed in the remainder of 1898-99 and Stevenson featured 13 times in the next campaign.</p><p>He moved on to Barnsley in 1900.</p>
