Fred Howe was a forward who played for Liverpool in the period leading up to the Second World War.

He made his debut on April 6, 1935 against Derby County and figured in six of the final seven First Division fixtures of that season, scoring in successive matches against Aston Villa, Stoke City and Chelsea.

Howe was the club's leading scorer for the next two seasons, with 17 goals from 34 league appearances in 1935-36 and 16 from 40 matches in 1936-37.

But he only figured nine times in 1937-38 and failed to add to his goal tally.

He also made five appearances for Liverpool in the FA Cup.
