Fred Baron came into the Liverpool side for the first time in March 1925 and scored five times in the nine games he played by the end of that season.

<p>However, such prolific form did not earn him a regular starting berth and he was only called on 10 times the following season, adding just a couple more goals to his total.</p><p>His 20th and final league match for Liverpool was at Burnden Park, Bolton on New Year's Day 1927.</p>
