Years: 1953-1955

Frank Lock had played more than 200 times for Charlton Athletic when he signed for Liverpool in 1953.
An elegant player who could feature at either right-back or left-back, his signing was an attempt to bolster an increasingly fragile defence as the club headed towards relegation to the Second Division.
Lock made 19 appearances before the end of the campaign as the Reds did indeed drop out of the top flight.
He was in the line-up at full-back for the first 18 matches of the following season and his last league appearance for the club came at Middlesbrough towards the end of April 1955.
Two months later he returned south to continue his playing career with Watford in the Third Division.
