Goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri joined Liverpool from Palmeiras in July 2008 and spent the next two years as deputy to Pepe Reina.

<p>Cavalieri was the third Brazilian to sign for the Reds after Fabio Aurelio and Lucas Leiva.</p><p>He made his competitive debut in a 2-1 League Cup victory over Crewe Alexandra on September 23, 2008.</p><p>That was one of 10 appearances for the club before his departure to Italian side Cesena.</p>
