David Speedie made himself an instant Liverpool favourite when he scored on his debut at Old Trafford and then hit two against Everton in his second game.

<p>The fiery Scotsman proved to be Kenny Dalglish's last signing for the club before he announced his resignation as manager on February 22, 1991.</p><p>Speedie totalled six goals in 12 league matches from the time of his signing until the final day of the 1990-91 season.</p><p>But he was one of numerous casualties of the early days of the Graeme Souness era. Before 1991 was over, he had moved to Blackburn Rovers to reunite with Dalglish.</p>
