Danny Wilson arrived at Liverpool in July 2010, signed from Rangers after a trophy-laden debut season in football.
The Scottish centre-back made 24 starts for Rangers in 2009-10 as Walter Smith's side swept all before them by clinching a domestic treble. His role earned a trio of personal accolades - SFA Young Player of the Year, the Scottish Football Writers' Young Player of the Year, and Rangers' Young Player of the Year.
It was no surprise when a move south of the border materialised.
Reds fans would catch their first glimpse of Wilson on September 22, 2010 - though it was a debut to forget as Liverpool slipped to a penalties defeat by Northampton Town in the League Cup.
His confidence undiminished, Wilson earned a senior debut for Scotland against the Faroe Islands on November 16 - and marked his special day with a goal.
Even so, chances were proving difficult to come by at Anfield and he spent the second half of 2011-12 on loan at Blackpool, making 10 appearances.
He then had two months with Bristol City during the first half of 2012-13 and returned to his home country later that season for another temporary switch, this time with Hearts.
Wilson made 15 appearances at Hearts and collected a League Cup runners-up medal after featuring in the final defeat by St. Mirren, then joined them on a permanent deal in May 2013.
