A Scouser and lifelong Reds fan, Jones joined the Academy at the age of nine and made his senior debut in an FA Cup tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2019, shortly before his 18th birthday.

He went on to become a member of trophy-winning squads under Jürgen Klopp and Arne Slot, lifting both the Premier League and League Cup twice, as well as the FA Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Jones' final appearance tally for Liverpool stood at 228 and he scored 22 goals, too – the first of which was a stunning, unforgettable winner in a Merseyside derby at Anfield in January 2020.

A few weeks later, Jones became the club's youngest ever captain. He was just 19 years and five days old when he skippered the youngest team in Liverpool's history to a win over Shrewsbury Town.

He collected a first Premier League winner's medal that summer and, from the start of the 2020-21 campaign, was a permanent member of the senior set-up.

After going on to lift two League Cups and an FA Cup with Klopp, Jones then played in 33 of Liverpool's 38 games in the 2024-25 Premier League title win under Slot.

Another 49 appearances followed in 2025-26, his final season with the Reds, and Jones marked his 228th and last match for the club with a goal against Brentford at Anfield.

Then, in the summer of 2026, he embarked on a new adventure in Italy by joining Internazionale.
