Christian Poulsen was signed by Roy Hodgson with a decent pedigree but his stay at Liverpool was brief as he completed just one season in 2010-11.

<p>The midfielder joined the Reds on a three-year deal in August 2010 after a colourful career that had taken in the Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A.</p><p>After signing from Juventus, Poulsen's debut came in a 1-0 Europa League win over Trabzonspor on August 19, 2010.</p><p>He struggled to make an impact, however, and totalled just 21 appearances for Liverpool before transferring to French outfit Evian Thonon Gaillard in August 2011.</p>
