The son of future Liverpool manager Joe, Chris Fagan was a full-back who featured just twice in the red shirt.

His most notable appearance came when Liverpool faced Manchester City in April 1971 just two days before an important European Fairs Cup semi-final at Leeds United.

Reds boss Bill Shankly opted to play his entire reserve team at Maine Road to protect his senior players before such an important cup tie.

Just three months later, with opportunities limited, Fagan moved to Prenton Park and went on to make more than 80 appearances for Tranmere Rovers.
